A letter from Sam: How CAP is reaching the community during COVID-19

16 May, 2020

A new mini-series of ‘behind-the-scenes’ from CAP head office staff

My name is Sam and I am the Head of Community Connections here at CAP. I work with community organisations, businesses and ministries to find ways we can collectively provide better care and support for our clients. I like to think of it as shining a light into all corners of a community and advocating for the vulnerable who are may not seek out help themselves.

As you can imagine, COVID-19 has increased the number of people who are at risk of slipping through the cracks. CAP is fighting for these people by adding its voice to campaigns like the Consumer Action Law Centre campaign, calling on essential services to support their community during the COVID-19 crisis. We’ve already seen results from this work, bringing relief to many.

Representing CAP, I see my role as bringing Jesus’ values into these discussions and campaigns. I’m particularly excited by the way the community services sector has banded together to help the vulnerable during this pandemic, and how the community is rallying to support the campaigns CAP is part of.

With all this in mind, I want to express my deep gratitude to you for your life-changing support. It goes beyond helping a family with their debt. CAP is here to fight for our clients to ensure they receive the holistic care and support they deserve. Your support is truly whole-of-life changing.

Thank you!

Head of Community Connections
