who does CAP help?
We help everyone irrespective of race, religious persuasion or social standing. Nobody is ever turned away without hope, providing they co-operate with us.

is CAP just for Christians?
No, we help anyone without discrimination.

what should I do to get help?
Contact our head office on 1300 227 000, Option 1 and a caseworker will arrange to visit you at home at a time which suits you.  This means that there are no queues to wait in, you will be more comfortable, and will have your bills and paperwork close at hand.

will the people I owe co-operate with you?
Landlords, utilities and mortgage companies work with us because we have the same goal and they have seen the results of our involvement.  They know that we offer fair repayments based on what you can afford.

what about my credit cards and bank loans?
As long as your living expenses are reasonable and necessary we have found that unsecured creditors do accept our repayment offers.

does CAP give money to clients to pay debts?
No, CAP does not give any money to clients to help pay their debts. All of the money that is paid off debts comes from the clients themselves. We work intensively with clients to help them live within their means and repay their own debts.

what happens if my circumstances change?
No problem, we can amend your budget and your regular payments into the CAP Account as many times as is required.  We are also happy to renegotiate with creditors if this becomes necessary.

does it cost me anything?
No. We make no charge for any help or advice we give.  The operation of the CAP Account and associated services is also provided free of charge.

We do give clients the opportunity to support the work of CAP and so help another family in need.  We have found that the act of giving can destroy a poverty mentality, and so bring about great change in people's circumstances.  There is no obligation on any client to give however, and we will provide the same service to all, regardless of whether they give or not.

how is CAP funded?
CAP is funded primarily by donation.  We receive no Government funding, although this may be sought in the future.  Our donors (called 'LifeChangers') are mainly individuals, businesses, and clients who share our vision of helping the poor and needy of this country by assisting them to work their own way out of debt.  Our philosophy is to have a lot of people, each giving a little, on a regular basis.

why do we do what we do?
Because we are Christians who want to reach out in love to those who are poor and needy, just as we know God wants us to do.
