Christians Against Poverty has won the 2008 Australian Business Award for Recommended Employer and for Community Contribution. CAP was recognised for its significant contribution to the community, as well as for its leadership in human resources management and provision of a stimulating and supportive workplace.
CAP was also named Champion Services at the 2008 New South Wales and ACT Small Business Champion Awards. At these awards, CAP was recognised for its business strategies, customer service, vision, support of the local community and growth. 
CAP was recognised among charities in the Hunter and Central Coast region for its outstanding growth at the 2008 Fastest Growing Awards.
CAP was recently announced as a finalist in the category of "Organisation of the Year" at the Not for Profit Network Awards. "The Not for Profit Network Awards program recognises people, projects, partnerships and organisations who exemplify best practice in the non-profit sectors in Australia and New Zealand. The awards have a strong focus on individuals, organisations, partnerships and projects whose actions help the organisation's success."
